Review Policy

Peer review is a fundamental component of the publishing process. It plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of published literature and advancing scientific discovery. To ensure high publication standards, all submissions undergo a rigorous and confidential peer-review process.

Key characteristics of the peer-review process include:

  • Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals is not permitted.
  • Manuscripts are reviewed by subject experts recommended by the editorial board.
  • Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer reports.
  • All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.
  • Editors and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest.
  • The peer-review process is confidential, and reviewer identities are not disclosed.

Authors may contact the editorial office for clarification regarding review policies.

Publication Procedure

Initial Checks

All manuscripts submitted to JOAPT are initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief to ensure compliance with author guidelines, ethical standards, and journal scope. Manuscripts that fail to meet these requirements may be returned for revision or rejected prior to peer review. No judgment regarding the scientific impact of the work is made at this stage.

Peer Review

Manuscripts passing initial checks are assigned to at least two independent reviewers. A double-blind peer-review process is followed, ensuring anonymity of both authors and reviewers.

Potential reviewers suggested by authors may also be considered, provided they have no recent collaboration or institutional association with the authors.

Editorial Decision and Revision

All manuscripts receive at least two independent reviews. Based on reviewer recommendations, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept after Minor Revisions: Accepted subject to minor changes.
  • Reconsider after Major Revisions: Resubmission required with detailed responses.
  • Reject and Encourage Resubmission: Additional work required.
  • Reject: Manuscript does not meet journal standards.

Authors must respond to all reviewer comments in a point-by-point manner. Any disagreement with reviewers must be clearly justified.

Author Appeals

Authors may appeal a rejection by submitting a detailed justification to the editorial office. The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board, will review the appeal. Decisions at this stage are final and cannot be reversed.

For special issues, the Managing Editor will forward the manuscript and related materials to the Editor-in-Chief for advisory review. Decisions at this stage are final.
